Date: Saturday, 5/30/09
Time: 6:30 a.m.
Where: Leaving from the parking lot of O'leary's Orthodontics
How Far: Varies--It's up to you. Come and start with the group and do the amount you need or can handle. I plan on doing at least 4 hours. However, each weekend we have had guys do 1.5, 2, and 3 hr rides. Whatever mileage you want to do, I'm sure there will be someone that will do it with you.
Route: Don't know; I guess we will decide that as we go. I'm thinking about Peak-Monticello Lake Loop-Pomaria-Ltl Mtn and maybe a Dreher Island loop. Should be close to 4 hours or a little more. A great comment that Clint uses: "It may not just be what you want, but by god it's all you'll want!" :-D
Pace: Varies--Once again, it's up to you. If I had to say, I would say med/high(hardish) pace. In fact, it would be cool if the pace were a bit higher for longer on this ride. (gotta suffer to get better); however, that does not mean that we will be in hammer mode the whole time. We WILL wait for any dropped riders along the route, unless the group is told differently by those that don't want to, or can't hold the pace. So please, DO NOT think that you are slowing the group down--nonsense. Personally speaking, I love the company of my friends (and I love to see them suffer ;-)
Having said that, yes, there are certain sections of road that beg to be ridden at a high pace...for those sections, indeed, we will oblige....jump on the train, keep gaps closed, and ignore you heart rate monitor. At times, we may drop some of these:
Store stop: Ltn Mtn--bring cash if you need.
Do you Twitter? If you do, 'bikelovin' And yes, you are NOT cool unless you do! Get with it.
